Drone Local pilot membership
£39.99 / year
One straightforward annual membership for your profile, network access and local opportunities.
Ready when you are
What membership is for
Work first. Community second.
Everything else supports that.
The map, profile and availability tools matter because they help pilots win work and connect with useful people.
01 • JOB LEADS
Relevant local enquiries should be the main reason to join.
Drone Local is being built to connect clients with suitable pilots in the right area — so useful opportunities reach working operators rather than disappearing into a generic national feed.
Priority benefit for members →
02 • NETWORK
Know the pilots around you — not just their usernames.
Connect with other operators, swap knowledge, find collaborators, cover work for one another and arrange local meetups. Drone work can be solitary; the network should make it less so.
Meet. Collaborate. Recommend. →

How it works
Jobs, membership & the pilot network
The practical questions pilots are likely to ask before joining.
01 — How are job enquiries sent to pilots?
A client specifies the job location and the type of drone work required. Drone Local checks the available member profiles and sends the first enquiry to up to five of the nearest suitable pilots rather than broadcasting it to the whole directory. Pilots can review the brief before deciding whether the job is appropriate for them.
02 — Which pilots are eligible to receive a lead?
Leads are intended for members offering commercial drone services who have current insurance and the relevant qualifications, authorisations, aircraft, equipment or specialist capability required for that task. Profile information needs to be kept current because it is used when matching pilots to enquiries.
03 — What if more than five suitable pilots are based near the same location?
Drone Local uses a local rotation so the same five pilots do not receive every enquiry. Among similarly close and suitable pilots, priority goes to members who have waited longest since receiving a comparable lead. Once a pilot is included in a batch, they move behind other eligible pilots in that local queue. Distance still matters, so the system does not ignore clearly nearer suitable pilots simply to force a rotation.
04 — What happens if I decline a job or do not respond?
You can decline immediately if the work is not right for you. A genuine decline does not count against you. If a pilot declines, or has not responded within 24 hours, Drone Local can offer the enquiry to the next suitable pilot in the local rotation so the client is not left waiting.
05 — When should a pilot say no?
Whenever the proposed operation is outside your competence, insurance, permissions, aircraft capability or safe operating conditions. Weather, airspace, site access and task-specific requirements still need to be assessed by the pilot. Knowing when not to accept a flight is part of being a professional operator.
06 — What does the pilot network include?
The aim is practical professional networking: connect with pilots nearby, discuss work and regulations, find collaborators, cover jobs for one another, share useful experience and arrange informal local meetups. Members can choose whether they are open to networking on their profile.
07 — How does the founding-member offer work?
The first 250 approved founding members can receive their first 12 months complimentary when they display the linked Drone Local badge on their own website. The badge link needs to remain active during the complimentary period. After the first year, membership renews at £39.99 per year.
08 — Can I use my Drone Local profile if I already have a website?
Yes. Add your website and social links to your profile and use Drone Local as an additional way for clients and other pilots to find you.
